Reiner Morgenroth (Der Morgenstern) leaves In Extremo
We regret to announce that Reiner Morgenroth and In Extremo have parted ways. We have come a long way together, we have had great adventures, and we have successfully navigated times both good and bad. Nevertheless, recently we have increasingly felt that our respective musical ideas have diverged from one another. As being true to ourselves and our fans is something that we, In Extremo, have always placed great importance on, it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to go our separate ways in the future. We are grateful for the time we enjoyed together with Reiner, and we are glad to continue to count him as a friend.
For the upcoming second part of our „Tranquilo“ tour our long-time friend and head roadie, Adrian Otto, will help us out on the drums, having already delivered an impressive performance night after night sitting behind the skins during the first Tranquilo concerts in December.
Greetings from In Extremo: Das letzte Einhorn, Yellow Pfeiffer, Flex der Biegsame, Dr. Pymonte, Die Lutter, Van Lange

WAHRE JAHRE: Fifteen Years of In Extremo: The Big Anniversary Festival on July 24 and 25, 2010, in Erfurt!
Metal Hammer, Sonic Seducer, Rockinvasion, Kulturnews and Piranha present: "WAHRE JAHRE: Fifteen Years of In Extremo: The Big Anniversary Festival on July 24 and 25, 2010, in Erfurt!

In 1995, fifteen years ago, a “mangy pack” called In Extremo gave its first performances at small medieval fairs. They have since become one of the most successful rock bands in Germany, and not just since In Extremo conquered the charts with their eighth studio album, Sängerkrieg, which was number one on the German album charts in May 2008, edging Madonna out. Having grown up amid the shouting and partying of the fairs, this former medieval band has become one of the best known German rock bands in the world in just a decade and a half. In order to celebrate this success story properly, In Extremo have come up with a motto that is as simple as it is unbeatable: “Real Years.” There are countless stories of friendships that have grown over the years and incredible events to be told. And that is exactly what In Extremo is going to do, with its familiar reveling in performance, in two exclusive concerts on July 24 and 25, 2010, against the breathtaking backdrop of the Zitadelle in Erfurt. They will of course perform different sets on the two evenings, playing songs from the past fifteen years, many of which have not been heard for a long time. So surprises are in store! The city of Erfurt was by no means selected by chance. The roots of many of In Extremo’s members are found there. And, even though nearly all of them live in Berlin now, Erfurt is still a special place for the band, to which they love to return on all their tours. But In Extremo will not “just” play two anniversary concerts with many guest performers and surprises at the Zitadelle. For two days, Erfurt will find itself under the sign of the Real Years of In Extremo. After-show parties in the clubs and a medieval market are on the agenda, and their fans can set up their tents at a campground outside the city on Lake Alperstedt. There will also be bus rides to Erfurt for the weekend, with opportunities to ride from twelve cities, for all the faithful In Extremo fans across the country. In Extremo has traveled across the country for so many years, so now the band is inviting its fans to come to Erfurt … to celebrate the “real years” of the past and of course to take the first step into all the “real years” to come. In short, In Extremo wants to set a new, memorable milestone in the history of the band in Erfurt, by partying hard with all its fans and friends.
